Canada’s First Eco-Friendly Rideshare Service Launches in Ottawa

Facedrive is a multi-faceted “people-and-planet first” platform offering socially-responsible services to local communities with a strong commitment to doing business fairly, equitably and sustainably. Facedrive rideshare was the first to offer green transportation solutions in the TaaS space, planting thousands of trees and giving users a choice between EVs, hybrids and conventional vehicles. Facedrive Marketplace offers curated merchandise created from sustainably sourced materials. Facedrive Foods offers contactless deliveries of healthy foods right to consumers’ doorsteps. Facedrive Health develops innovative technological solutions to the most acute health challenges of the day. Facedrive is changing the ridesharing, food delivery, e-commerce and health tech narratives for the better, for everyone.

Facedrive Inc. is launching its ridesharing services in the nation’s capital this Canada Day. Facedrive is Canada’s first peer-to-peer, eco-friendly and socially responsible ridesharing network. Today’s launch means that, for the first time, green and socially responsible consumers in Ottawa will have access to a ridesharing platform that is 100% Canadian and puts people and the planet first.

Unlike other ridesharing platforms, Facedrive does not use surge pricing.

Sustainability means becoming the first Canadian ridesharing company to offer carbon neutral rides. A portion of every rider’s fare will be contributed to carbon offset initiatives, through partnerships with organizations like Forest Ontario. Riders will also be able to choose between electric, hybrid or gas-powered vehicles when ordering a trip through the platform.

“We are delighted to be launching Facedrive in the National Capital Region on Canada Day,” said Suman Pushparajah, Chief Operating Officer of Facedrive. “Bringing our ESG (environmental, social and governance) strategy to life in the city will provide Ottawans with a sustainable alternative, and we’re excited to get started,” added Pushparajah.

Facedrive’s expansion to Ottawa is in line with national and global expansion plans. It is currently servicing in Toronto, London, Hamilton, Kitchener-Waterloo, Cambridge, Orillia, and Guelph.
